about

I'm currently Head of Online Design at DDB for Gutenberg Networks. Since joining the company in September 2009, my role has involved working both independently and with DDB creatives on the concept, design and development of digital projects including standard and rich media ads, HTML emails, microsites and websites for clients such as Philips, Tourism Australia, Star Alliance and Johnson & Johnson.

Prior to my role at DDB, I was Senior Designer at Play, M&C Saatchi, having joined the agency in 2006. I designed and developed websites, microsites and ads for clients including Heinz, Fosters, TFL, Twinings, Qantas, Natwest, RBS and ITV.

As well as design, my role also involved art direction and concepting; developing IAs, wireframes and site structures; and organising shoots. After becoming Senior Designer in 2007, I managed and mentored a team of up to ten designers.

Before joining Play, I spent two and a half years as a designer at the University of the Arts London, designing and developing websites for Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion and Chelsea College of Art & Design amongst others.

history

Before embarking on a career as a designer, I was Exhibitions Curator at the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery of Modern Art Dublin for 5 years. My job there was exciting, demanding and extremely varied - and included co-ordinating and publishing exhibition catalogues; co-ordinating advertising and PR campaigns; managing large budgets and project managing the design and development of the Gallery's website.

Whilst working in the Gallery, I had the opportunity to dabble in design, producing flyers and posters for the smaller budget exhibitions. I grew to love it more than my job as curator. Finally, as project manager for the Gallery's new website, I decided that I'd much rather be the designer than the client.
